Taylor Swift’s song ‘The Black Dog’, from her ‘The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology’ album, is what got Swifties from London and all over the world flocking to the pub. The blackboard outside the pub that we supplied with her lyrics on is by far the most photographed board we’ve ever worked on.

The Black Dog is also known for its open kitchen serving great pub food with a seasonal menu, as well as its collection of Taylor Swift merchandise, making it a firm favourite with Swifties in the area.

When The Black Dog approached us, they wanted to avoid the classic pub look and go for something more clean and modern to fit the aesthetic of the venue. We suggested a block and script style in bold white, making it clear to customers what’s on offer for future promotions and new merchandise, especially for the back bar tiled wall, which changes every quarter of the year.

Our work has involved painting double-sided boards for outside the venue, along with the large tiled wall behind the bar, and the standout piece, the main board outside hand-painted with Taylor Swift lyrics, which has become a real talking point for passersby and fans alike.
