This notice explains how The Blackboard Artist Ltd uses personal information when you browse our website or contact us about a project. For questions or to exercise your privacy rights, email info@theblackboardartist.com.
Who is responsible for your information?
The Blackboard Artist Ltd is responsible for the personal information collected through www.theblackboardartist.com. We use it to run our business, respond to enquiries and provide our services.
What we collect and why
Enquiries and projects
When you contact us, we receive the details you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, company, website and project requirements. Different forms ask for different details. Please only include information relevant to your enquiry.
We use this information to respond, discuss requirements, prepare quotes and manage agreed work. This processing is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract, perform a contract, or pursue our legitimate interest in handling business enquiries and keeping appropriate business records. We may also process information to meet legal obligations.
Our forms send enquiry notifications through Resend to our business inbox and a website-support recipient. Enquiry contact details may also be saved in Resend to organise and follow up enquiries.
Website delivery and security
Our hosting and delivery providers process technical information such as IP addresses, requested resources, browser information and security signals to deliver the site, diagnose faults and prevent abuse. Cloudflare hosts the website and images, and Cloudflare Turnstile helps protect forms from automated submissions. We use these services for our legitimate interests in maintaining a secure, functioning website.
Bunny delivers website videos, and Cloudflare delivers our audio files. These providers receive the technical information needed to deliver the requested media. Our social links take you to external websites; their own privacy notices apply when you visit them.
Cookies and similar storage
Cookies are small browser files. Similar technologies, including local storage, can remember information on your device. You can browse the site and send enquiries without accepting optional Analytics cookies.
Essential storage
We use local storage named bba-cookie-consent-v1 to remember your choices on this browser for 180 days. We then ask again. This record contains your Analytics choice, a preference version and an expiry time. It is not an advertising identifier. Security and form features may also use essential session or Cloudflare security storage when needed.
Analytics — optional
With your permission, Google Analytics 4 measures visits, pages viewed and interactions to help us understand and improve the website. It may process identifiers, browser and device information, approximate location and activity on the site. Its first-party cookies commonly include _ga and _ga_*. Google documents a default expiry of two years for these cookies; their actual expiry depends on the configuration and subsequent visits.
We do not load our Google Analytics tag until you allow Analytics. We do not use Google Ads tags or enable Google advertising signals on this website. Cookie expiry is separate from how long information already received by Google is retained.
Change your choices
Use here or in the footer to accept, reject or customise optional cookies. The first visit offers equally accessible Accept all and Reject optional options. Optional choices start off.
When you withdraw permission, we stop the affected tags, reload the page where necessary and remove the related first-party cookies that this website can access. We cannot remove cookies on Google's own domains or retrieve information already sent. You can also manage or delete cookies using your browser settings. Clearing browser storage means we may ask for your choices again.
Preferences apply to this browser and website origin. Staging preferences are separate from those on the live website. Google measurement tags are disabled on the staging website even when you accept optional cookies.

Providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK data protection rules require safeguards for an international transfer, the applicable provider arrangements must include an appropriate transfer mechanism. Contact us if you need more information about a particular provider or transfer.
How long we keep information
We do not have one fixed retention period for every enquiry or customer record. How long information is needed depends on whether an enquiry is active, whether it leads to work, the records needed to manage that work and any applicable legal, accounting or dispute-related requirements.
Contact us to ask about information relating to you or to request deletion. Some information may need to be retained for an applicable legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your information, request deletion, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or obtain a portable copy of information. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Email info@theblackboardartist.com with your request. We may need information to verify your identity. You can also raise a concern with the UK's Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when our services or use of information changes. We will update the date above and request new cookie consent if the purposes of optional storage change.
